“ It never misses. Katsu was crispy and thin, sauces were the right amount of tangy, loved the mac salad (when you crave Hawaiian BBQ this completes the plate), they have a Hawaiian plate down to a science. ”
“ Really delicious and fun. I recommend the Musubi and the bbq is just so yummy! Giant Spam sushi is really a unique experience. ”
“ The BBQ mix plate had great flavor and the katsu was both juicy and crispy! Felt like we got a decent amount of food for the price. The spam musubi's rice ratio was a little too high for my liking, but that was easy enough to work around. There's not much space for inside dining, so there was a bit of a wait for a shaded table outside. Overall happy with the experience and would go again. ”
“ This place was such an amazing surprise. The food was fresh and well made. Great flavors and the portions were insanely big (each plate feeds 2). It's Hawaiian done right. Also the ramen was surprisingly tasty with good chewy noodles and a real kick. Great to stop on the way to Tahoe. ”
“ I stopped in during a very long day of driving. I was hungry and this area in Davis has multiple good eats. I was craving HawaiianBBq chicken, and Yelp showed Tim's near where I parked. It was late, just after 9pm, and the place was packed. The line to order moved extremely fast. The crew was working hard, cooking and filling orders quickly. I was overwhelmed and confused after my long day. When I got to the counter, I told the young man I just wanted Hawaiian Chicken but was tired and confused. His name was Felix. He immediately slowed down and helped me through my order! Then told me to be seated and he would serve me. Unusual, as they generally call out numbers as orders are up. He was super kind and helpful. I almost left, because of my brain issues. But with Felix help, I got to order what I wanted, was able to sit down, and was taken care of the way I needed right then. Now I am almost ready to leave, and I am more than satisfied. The food was GREAT. And, as you can see in my picture, only 20 minutes after I arrived- the counter has no line. Everyone was served in a timely manner. This place ROCKS! ”
“ I highly recommend Tim's. I've actually been eating here for a while but the food is so good I always forget to get a picture. My fiancé and I ordered take out. I always get the bbq mix plate and it never disappoints. My fiancé got 1/2 bbq chicken 1/2 bbq beef. Both plates came with 2 scoops of rice and 1 scoop of Mac salad. (But you do have the option to do 2 Mac 1 rice or any other combination) We split an order of the 3 mususbi; 1 spam, 1 chicken katsu, 1 bbq chicken. The staff is always super friendly any time we go. ”
“ Tim's Hawaiian offers a $10 special on Monday (fish and chips), Tuesday (BBQ chicken), and Wednesday (chicken katsu) every week. The portions are large enough to split between 2 people and come with a fountain drink. The food tastes great and you can't beat the price! I like the Mac salad so much that sometimes I order an extra scoop for later :) It's a big space with plenty of seating and a few tables outside. Order at the counter if you can because the kiosks add a service fee. ”
“ Everything about this establishment was great! Would 10/10 recommend to anyone looking for authentic Hawaiian food, that's decently priced, and also really great service that was so communicative and helpful. The restaurant itself is small with not too much seating but there are also picnic tables outside and lots of street parking in the area and a parking lot right next door. The overall ambiance was calm, which I am sure is to change when Davis students are back in session and flocking here for food! The food itself was amazing. Everything was fresh, and you can tell they were made with great products and was overall well made. Definitely satisfied our Hawaiian food craving and we will be returning. ”
“ Cute little spot in downtown; short walk from Davis campus so I came out for a quick lunch. Ordered a loco moco and the portion was huge: 2 large patties with 2 over easy eggs, gravy, 2 scoops of rice, and 1 scoop of mac salad on the side. It was very filling and I had to take the other half to go because the portion was that generous. Definitely worth the price; it was around $17 including tax so considering I can get 2 servings out of it, that's nice. The food itself is pretty good. It's nothing super special to rave about but it definitely hits the spot when you want some Hawaiian food! Would definitely come back to try their other plates. ”
“ I recently tried the Chicken Katsu plate from Tim's Hawaiian BBQ, I must admit that I didn't enjoy it as much as I did their Chicken BBQ. Will post a picture of the chicken katsu ,unfortunately, I ate all of the chicken BBQ but it was super good ! The Chicken Katsu plate was priced at around $14, which seemed reasonable for a full meal. I found the chicken to be disappointingly dry and difficult to swallow. It's important to note that personal preferences can vary, and while I didn't particularly enjoy this dish, there are others in my friend group who might appreciate it. On the positive side, the cashier at the restaurant was extremely friendly and provided great customer service. ”
